The Art of the Bounce Back

Being widowed young was never part of my life plan. In 2014, though, I unexpectedly lost my husband, Paul. Our daughter was still a toddler.

My world as I knew it was shattered—but at the same time remade.

In the awful days that followed, I found strength and resilience to honor his memory, mother my child, and forge a path forward. While still grieving Paul’s loss, I began the journey that has taught me that behind every obstacle is an opportunity to live a greater, fuller life.

In the years since, I’ve found new ways to inspire others and help them see the good in their situations, professionally and personally. I’ve grown my consulting business, written four books (including this one), and supported my daughter as she’s grown. Resilience mattered to me on a personal scale, but it wasn’t something we had a national conversation about.

Then COVID-19 hit, and we all know what happened after. Suddenly, resilience matters a lot. Our resilience has been tested, found wanting, and strengthened.

Collectively we’ve realized that resilience is the key to thriving in difficulty, whether yours is a personal crisis or part of a national reckoning.

It doesn’t matter what has brought you to this book; adversity comes in all shapes and sizes. What matters is that you’re ready to build your resilience, so that you can find the best today, tomorrow, and always. It’s what will get you through what life throws at you, again and again.

The Art of the Bounce Back gives you practical guidance to getting through life’s difficulties, setbacks, and challenges, broken out into 31 days of insight and exercises. It’s a powerful way to go from where you don’t want to be to where you do.

Friends,

the journey awaits. Let’s get started.
