Elle’s bio

LaTrice Davis, MSW (also known as Elle) loves to make people and organizations stronger through her consulting and authenticity in cultivating relationships. As a trained Social Worker with nearly two decades of non-profit management, program & partnership development, staff training, and facilitation experience, Elle has always had an affinity towards people; inspiring them and helping them to see the best in their situations, both personally and professionally.

This optimistic attitude was put to the test in 2014 when Elle unexpectedly became a widow, shattering her world as she knew it. Through that experience, Elle learned that every obstacle can be turned into an opportunity to live a greater, fuller life, filled with purpose. Losing her husband was devastating and one of the lowest points of her life. Instead of allowing that loss to overtake her, Elle began to share her story by encouraging others who were facing their own obstacles. Born of Elle’s loss is her signature talk, Being Resilient in Troubling Times in which she has shared both in-person and virtually, providing participants with tools to utilize toward living a more resilient life.

Her story of resilience has been featured on BlackDoctor.org and featured in three other book collaborations. The Art of the Bounce Back is Elle's first solo book project.

Elle gives back to her community through volunteerism and serving on boards. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Elle lives on the south side of Chicago with her school-age daughter, Simone, affectionately known as Butterfly.
